Hebridean Sheep
Lots of sheep for sale!
1) 18 month old wedders: we have 14 of these for sale either on the hoof or on the hook. On the hoof they make great conservation grazers and on the hook they make incredibly tasty roasts! The meat is not as fatty as conventional lamb and is much firmer with a distinct taste which just sends you back for more. The average amount of meat produced is 15-18 kg. Price: delivered on the hoof to Kirkwall £55 per head. Can arrange for slaughter and butchery at purchasers cost.
2) 18 month old gimmers. We have 15 of these who will be ready to go to the tup this autumn.The Hebrideans are noted to be hardy and thrifty, easy to lamb and darn good mothers. All are registered with the Hebridean Sheep Society. As the black gene tends to be recessive it likely that you would get white lambs if the ewes are crossed with a terminal sire. Price delivered to Kirkwall: £55 per head.
3) Ewe lambs available at weaning in November. We have 10 of these. These are not registered with the Hebridean Sheep Society. Price £45 per head including transport to Kirkwall.
4) Wedder lambs available at weaning in November. We have 19 of these . Price £40 per head including transport to Kirkwall.
5) Ram lamb: 1 available at weaning.
All lambs will be receive BTV prior to leaving the farm. As we do not experience any problems with our sheep here they receive no other vaccinations. We would be happy to discuss discounts on the prices above if taking a lot of animals and happy to keep the older animals until lambs are weaned. We can arrange transport south at purchasers cost.
